
Genesis
The world's first VR god game.
Genesis was a god game developed for VR in 2016. It takes place on a disk world where the player is an invisible being that can interact with the inhabitants of the world (called nubs) to help or hinder their day-to-day life.
Though I was assigned to other projects I still got the opportunity to help out with the Genesis project from time to time. I helped as a consultant to the gameplay programmers when they were getting the locomotion system up and running (particularly ironing out a couple of problems causing motion sickness). Additionally I worked as a VFX artist as well as being was responsible for determining the VFX style for Genesis and ensuring it worked both with the art style of the game and in VR.
Genesis unfortunately did not continue development after the construction of an early internal build.
